How do you create a succinct and engaging video about a software product so robust that Berkley dedicates an entire class to it? That’s the question we were asking ourselves when the music industry technocrats at Topspin invited us to create a promo video to support their new product launch. But balancing benefits and features within our story was only one of the challenges–the other, making Topspin’s retail and marketing software as visually interesting as the music industry it serves. Our solution was to trade conventional sequences of software screen shots for simple info graphics contextualized within a gritty, indie-music aesthetic.
